Greater Noida AI Park has moved from proposal to approval after the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet cleared a 69.52-acre Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Park aimed at building a stronger deep-tech and manufacturing ecosystem in the state.

The project, officially called the Platform for Robotics and AI Growth Through Technology and Innovation, or PRAGATI Park, is expected to support robotics companies, technology startups, research institutions and industrial users from one integrated location.

At full scale, the state estimates the park could generate more than 1 lakh direct and indirect jobs and contribute around โ‚น2,000 crore annually in gross value added to Uttar Pradeshโ€™s economy.

Greater Noida AI Park will be developed in two zones

The development model is one of the most important parts of the project.

Zone I will cover eight acres and will be developed through a special purpose vehicle under a public-private partnership model. The Greater Noida Authority will hold a 26% equity stake in the SPV, while the selected industrial partner will own the remaining 74%.

The authority will contribute โ‚น21.1 crore in equity, while the state government will provide an interest-free loan of โ‚น126.2 crore for 30 years to support development of the first zone.

Zone II will cover the remaining 61.52 acres. Private companies will develop industrial units and related facilities there, with the state government carrying no capital liability for that part of the project.

What the PRAGATI Park is expected to offer

The Greater Noida AI Park is not being planned as a conventional office campus. The aim is to create shared infrastructure that companies and research teams can use to build and test real products.

According to reports on the Cabinet decision, the park is expected to include robotics testing and certification facilities, rapid prototyping, AI computing infrastructure, motion-capture systems and data laboratories.

That combination could be particularly useful for startups and smaller technology companies that may not be able to build expensive testing or GPU infrastructure on their own.

The governmentโ€™s stated objective is to promote indigenous robotics manufacturing while accelerating development of AI-based technologies and creating a stronger environment for research and investment.

Why Greater Noida is a logical location

Greater Noida already sits inside one of Indiaโ€™s fastest-growing technology and industrial corridors.

The wider Noida-Greater Noida region has attracted electronics manufacturers, data centres, global capability centres and large infrastructure investments. It also benefits from proximity to Delhi, major expressways and the upcoming Noida International Airport.

Putting an AI and robotics park in this ecosystem could help connect software companies with manufacturing, research and logistics rather than treating artificial intelligence as a purely digital industry.

That matters because the next phase of AI growth will increasingly involve physical systems such as industrial robots, drones, autonomous machines and smart manufacturing equipment.

The 1 lakh jobs figure needs context

The projected employment number is eye-catching, but it should be read as a long-term estimate rather than an immediate hiring commitment.

The state says the completed ecosystem could generate more than 100,000 direct and indirect jobs. Those roles could include engineering, software development, robotics manufacturing, testing, maintenance, supply-chain work and supporting services.

Commercial operations in Zone I are targeted within 36 months of the SPVโ€™s registration, with an extension of up to 48 months if required. That means the project will take several years to move from Cabinet approval to a fully functioning technology cluster.

A bigger push into AI, GCCs and advanced industry

The PRAGATI Park also fits into a broader Uttar Pradesh strategy to attract high-value technology investment.

Alongside the robotics park decision, the Cabinet approved support for global capability centre projects involving companies including Havells, Ameriprise, MetLife and LG Soft India. Together, those projects represent proposed investment of more than โ‚น1,700 crore in Noida.

For Greater Noida, the combination of AI, robotics, electronics and GCC investment could gradually create a deeper technology ecosystem rather than a collection of isolated projects.

Breakington has also been tracking Indiaโ€™s broader technology and AI expansion, including investments in infrastructure and homegrown AI companies.

What happens next

Cabinet approval is only the beginning. The next important milestones will include formation of the SPV, selection of the industrial partner, construction timelines and the companies that eventually commit to the park.

If those pieces come together, the Greater Noida AI Park could become one of the more important attempts in India to connect artificial intelligence with robotics, manufacturing and applied research in one location.

The promise is significant. The real measure of success, however, will be how quickly the approved plan turns into functioning labs, factories, startups and jobs.
